The 69th Venice Film Festival, directed by Alberto Barbera, kicks off on Wednesday 29th August with the Opening Ceremony and the screening of Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist, out of competition. Mostra Internazionale di Architettura, diretta da David Chipperfield e intitolata Common Ground, apre al pubblico mercoledì 29 agosto; lo stesso giorno si svolgerà la cerimonia di premiazione e di inaugurazione. The 13th International Architecture Exhibition, directed by David Chipperfield and titled Common Ground, opens to the public on Wednesday 29th August; the same day the awards ceremony and inauguration will take place. Concluso il Laboratorio Int.le del Teatro   /   Intl. Theatre Workshop now closed

Dal 4 al 13 agosto si è svolta la nuova edizione del Laboratorio Internazionale del Teatro, diretto da Àlex Rigola. Cinque autori della scena contemporanea - Luca Ronconi, Declan Donnellan con Nick Ormerod, Claudio Tolcachir, Neil LaBute, Gabriela Carrizo - hanno tenuto i rispettivi laboratori. Il Leone d'oro alla carriera è stato consegnato il 6 agosto a Luca Ronconi. Il laboratorio di critica teatrale condotto da Andrea Porcheddu ha contribuito con saggi e interventi critici a un'analisi delle tematiche del Laboratorio.

The new edition of the International Theatre Workshop, directed by Àlex Rigola, ran from 4th to 13th August. Five directors of the contemporary stage (Luca Ronconi, Declan Donnellan with Nick Ormerod, Claudio Tolcachir, Neil LaBute, and Gabriela Carrizo) held their respective workshops. The Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement was presented to Luca Ronconi on 6th August. The next International Theatre Festival will take place in 2013.
